Mariia Kocherzhenko from Kamianske won silver at the Junior Wimbledon 2026 in the U14 category. The athlete is 13 years old, trains at Sports School No. 3, and currently tops the Tennis Europe U14 rankings. The competition took place from July 9 to 12 in Great Britain.
In the group stage, Kocherzhenko won all three matches. In the semifinals, she defeated Brazilian Eduarda Gomes with a score of 6:3, 7:5.
In the final, her opponent was American Isheya Manchzhala. After each won a set, the title was decided by a super tie-break: the American won with a score of 10:8.
