Residents of various parts of the city of Samar are reporting changes in the quality of tap water – it has become cloudy or has taken on an atypical color. This happened after emergency crews of COMCITY LLC carried out a planned shutdown of water supply on September 9 and installed 8 large gate valves on the city's main water supply networks. After the completion of the work, the enterprise began flushing the pipelines through fire hydrants – this process is still ongoing.
COMCITY LLC is a centralized supplier of water supply and sewerage in the city of Samar. The company explains: when pipelines are emptied and then refilled with water, the direction and speed of the flow change. This dislodges deposits that have accumulated over the years from the inner walls of the pipes – hence the cloudiness or change in water color. The phenomenon is temporary and directly related to the scale of the work performed.
COMCITY notes that the networks need some time to stabilize after large-scale repairs and apologizes to residents for the temporary inconvenience.
