A draft regulation on the introduction of DniproID, a unified digital identifier for city residents, has been submitted for consideration by the Dnipro City Council. It will be generated after electronic identification in the "eDnipro" application and will become a personal digital document for each user.
Thanks to DniproID, Dnipro residents will be able to confirm their identity in electronic format, as well as confirm their rights to receive city services and their own digital statuses. The identifier is intended to unite access to municipal services, benefits, and documents integrated into "eDnipro" in a single digital space. Connection to state registers and other information systems is also planned.
What documents and statuses will be included in DniproID
According to the draft regulation, the identifier will display:
data from the territorial community register;
student ID;
pension certificate;
driver's license;
war veteran status;
internally displaced person (IDP) status.
This list is not exhaustive: new documents, statuses, and services are planned to be added to DniproID in the future.
How it will work in practice
Access to DniproID will be open 24/7, except for scheduled technical maintenance. For document authenticity verification, QR code and barcode generation are provided. Data on statuses and documents will be updated automatically - immediately after changes in the relevant state registers or systems.
The identifier is personal: it is forbidden to transfer it to other persons. The service is planned to be free of charge.
Technical support and system functioning are entrusted to the municipal enterprise "Digital Transformation and Automation of Information Processes of the City 'eDnipro'".
