Kateryna Lazarenko concluded the WTT W15 tournament in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Poland, with two gold medals in singles and doubles. In the singles final, she faced local player Zuzanna Bednarz (WTA #823) and defeated her in a tense three-set match: 7:5, 3:6, 6:4. In the doubles final, Lazarenko partnered with Polish tennis player Daria Horskaya, and together they confidently defeated the American duo Ava Grastar / Kate Sharabura with a score of 6:3, 6:4.
First career singles title
Lazarenko currently holds the WTA #774 ranking. Both finals took place in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, a small town near Warsaw where this WTT W15 series tournament was held.
For the Dnipro native, the singles victory marked a true milestone: she had never before won a singles title at the professional level. The doubles trophy, however, was her fourth career title, and notably, all four were won within the current season.
