Two athletes from Dnipro brought home awards from the continental championship in cable wakeboarding and wakeskating. Iryna Zharnosek took first place in the U30 category, and Volodymyr Lysenko took second place in the U40 category - together they won 2 medals for the city at the IWWF European & African Youth & Senior Cable Wakeboard & Wakeskate Championships 2026.
The tournament took place in the Slovak capital, Bratislava, from August 24 to 30. Both youth and adult categories of athletes from Europe and Africa were admitted to the competition.
Volodymyr Lysenko combines competing with coaching: he teaches at the Sports School for Water Skiing and Wakeboarding in Dnipro.
