Dnipropetrovsk Oblast has become one of the leaders among Ukrainian regions in terms of the number of marriages registered remotely. This was reported by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
Three digital civil registry offices (DRATS) operate in Ukraine – special units where couples can register their marriage online regardless of their location. Offices have been opened in Kyiv, Dnipro, and Lviv.
The Kyiv office has been operating since September 2024 and recorded the highest figure – 36,823 remote marriages. The Dnipro and Lviv offices opened simultaneously in September 2025. During this time, the Dnipro unit conducted 17,239 online registrations, while the Lviv unit conducted 8,224. This means that couples in Dnipro married remotely more than twice as often as in Lviv.
In total, 62,286 marriages were concluded through digital DRATS offices in Ukraine as of July 2026.
According to the results of the first half of 2026, the Ministry of Justice recorded 79,516 new families. Of these, 30,488 couples chose the online registration format – this is 38.3% of all marriages during the specified period. For comparison: in 2025, the share of remote marriages was 18.4% – then 30,468 couples out of 165,587 registered married online.
The Ministry of Justice notes that the demand for the digital service continues to grow.
