Applicants for 2026 are guided by three levels of minimum passing scores depending on the chosen field, reports Osvita.ua.
The highest bar — 150 points — is set for "International Relations", "Public Management and Administration", "Law", "International Law", "International Economic Relations", as well as for medical fields: "Dentistry", "Medicine", "Pediatrics" and "Medical Psychology". This requirement applies to both state funding and self-funded education.
"Pharmacy" has a separate threshold — 140 points, also regardless of the form of payment. For other specialties, the minimum for a state-funded place is 130 points.
How the competitive score is formed
According to the Procedure for admission to higher educational institutions, each university independently specifies the minimum passing score in its own admission rules, but not lower than state standards. The competitive score is calculated by converting the results of the NMT from each subject into a two-hundred-point scale with an adjustment for weighting coefficients, which the Ministry of Education and Science sets separately for each specialty.
