WFP humanitarian facilities in Ukraine have been damaged for the second time in three months – this incident being the seventh during this period. WFP reminds: international humanitarian law prohibits attacks on civilian and humanitarian infrastructure.
The latest incident occurred in Dnipro. Within a single day, the organization's warehouse was attacked four times. The building sustained damage, and one of WFP's vehicles was also affected. There were no injuries among the organization's staff.
Richard Ragan, WFP Representative in Ukraine, called this a systemic trend.
This is not an isolated incident. We are observing a disturbing trend of increasing attacks on humanitarian facilities and operations across the country. Over the past two years, WFP has recorded over 90 incidents affecting our warehouses, vehicles, aid distribution points, and the property of national humanitarian partners throughout Ukraine, he stated.
WFP emphasizes that such attacks cause material damage and at the same time jeopardize the delivery of essential aid to the war-affected population.
