Ukraine and the USA have agreed to intensify negotiations at all levels. The Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, reported on the shared understanding of the need for the quickest and just end to the war.
On the agenda were strengthening Ukraine's air defense and steps towards a peaceful settlement. The parties also considered a wider range of security and diplomatic issues.
The meeting took place on July 28, 2026, at the White House. The Ukrainian delegation was led by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Budanov participated in the negotiations in person and published their results on his Telegram channel.
We had a substantive conversation regarding diplomatic and security steps necessary to bring about a just peace. Together with our American partners, we have a clear understanding of the need for the quickest and just end to the war, — he wrote.
Regarding the main outcome: "We agreed to intensify the negotiation process at all levels."
At the end of the message, Budanov thanked the American side: "Thank you USA for unwavering support of Ukraine!"
