The city authorities of Nikopol appealed to residents with practical recommendations on preparing for a possible escalation. The appeal was published on September 4, listing specific actions that should be taken now.
What to prepare at home
The primary task is to assemble or check an emergency kit. It should include documents, cash, communication devices with chargers, a flashlight, basic clothing, water, and necessary medications.
Separately, the authorities emphasize a water supply: drinking and technical water - for at least 3 days. This is the minimum that will allow surviving a possible temporary water supply shutdown.
Given the likely power outages and the approaching autumn-winter season, it is recommended to purchase a power bank or charging station. Devices should be kept charged constantly. It is also worth taking care of working flashlights and a sufficient supply of batteries or accumulators for them.
Regarding food products - a small supply for a few days is enough: cereals, canned goods, pasta, and other items that can be stored without a refrigerator. The city council separately warns against panic: there is no need to buy everything indiscriminately and make excessive reserves.
The home first aid kit should also be reviewed. Those who take medication on a permanent basis are advised to have a supply for several days in advance. Important contacts - phone numbers of relatives, emergency services - are best written down on paper, rather than relying solely on phone memory.
