Another missile strike on Dnipro – and once again, the "Oliyna" plant is in the spotlight. This time, the city was attacked twice by "Banderol" missiles, one of which hit this very enterprise, located practically in the heart of the city. Mayor Borys Filatov publicly named the object and demanded to stop masking it as an unnamed "food industry enterprise." Separately, he emphasized: "Oliyna" belongs to the American corporation Bunge.
For "Oliyna," this strike is not the first. The enterprise, located in the central part of Dnipro, has repeatedly come under targeted attacks by Russians, and each time official reports used vague wording instead of a specific name.
American Trace and International Context
Filatov reminded that recently, US Senator Richard Blumenthal personally visited "Oliyna." According to the mayor, this fact makes any concealment of the enterprise's name and owner particularly absurd. He called for the involvement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and to systematically convey information about such strikes to the international community – emphasizing that American property is being destroyed.
Filatov openly criticized the information policy, under which official reports avoid specifics and ignore the international dimension of the attacks.
The Mayor's Words Uncensored
In his address, Filatov wrote:
The whole City sees where the damn "Banderols" hit. This is the very center of the city. The whole City sees that it is "Oliyna." An enterprise that has been shelled repeatedly.
Regarding the state's reaction, the mayor spoke even more sharply:
But the "patsaks" (derogatory term) don't care about Americans, their property, or the concerns of senators. And we stubbornly talk about abstract ruined "enterprises." Instead of involving the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and shouting about it to the whole world.
