The Holy Dormition Church in the village of Mezheva, Synelnykove district, burned down. According to preliminary data, the fire was caused by an enemy drone strike, reports "Mezhivsky Meridian".
A video from the scene shows the building engulfed in thick black smoke and flames. The roof collapsed, and all the interior rooms were burned out. Only charred frames remained of the dome and bell tower.
The rector of the church, Father George, noted that this building was a place where the entire Mezheva community gathered for years. Despite the destruction, he expressed confidence in its restoration:
"This is a place where we all prayed together as a community. But we will rebuild everything."
