The Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council supported two decisions: on the creation of a digital memorial for the Heroes of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and the development of the "Military Family" veteran space. Both initiatives are joint efforts of the Oblast Council and the Oblast Military Administration (OVA).
The memorial is conceived as a single platform where data about the fallen from all communities in the region will be stored - photographs, biographies, life stories, and memories of relatives.
"Military Family" is a space where veterans, their families, and relatives of the fallen can receive services, consultations, and assistance in one place.
Before the vote, the head of the Oblast Council Mykola Lukashuk and the head of the OVA Oleksandr Hanzha held a meeting with veterans, families of the fallen, and representatives of public organizations. They discussed the region's veteran policy, support for military personnel and their families, and preserving the memory of those who died for Ukraine.
Among other topics were children's health, preferential travel, pensions and payments, evacuation, and temporary housing. The state of military burials and assistance to families of prisoners of war and missing persons were discussed separately.
"Our task is to create a system in the region where a veteran or the family of a fallen Hero is not left alone with their issues. This is not about individual measures or formal decisions. Constant support is needed, which works for people in every community," said Lukashuk.
