In Samara, Dnipropetrovsk region, the community is undertaking the restoration of the "Remember for the Future" memorial, which was damaged by vandals. The plan is to clean up the territory, remove traces of vandalism from the granite, restore damaged elements, and install video surveillance. Everyone is welcome to join - those with equipment, building materials, or simply willing to work with their hands.
Concurrently, Samara Mayor Serhiy Reznik announced an increase in the reward for information about the vandals - it now stands at 70,000 hryvnias.
The investigation is ongoing. Reznik noted that law enforcement officers are establishing all circumstances of the crime and urged residents not to remain silent: any clue could help find the perpetrators.
Those who know anything about the individuals responsible for damaging the memorial are asked to contact the police or the city council.
"The vandals damaged the stone. But they will not be able to destroy our memory if we ourselves do not allow it. We must remain human," - Serhiy Reznik.
