In the Dnipropetrovsk region, CT scans are performed in 31 medical facilities - city, district, and regional hospitals. There are 40 computed tomography scanners operating there. MRI is available in 9 institutions with an agreement with the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU) — a total of 11 devices. This was reported by the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.
Both types of examinations are included in the Medical Guarantees Program. The NHSU fully covers their cost - provided that the doctor has confirmed the medical indications.
Any patient can undergo the examination free of charge - regardless of the place of registration and where the referral was issued. The only mandatory condition is an electronic referral from a doctor.
How to get a referral and choose a facility
Consult a specialist who will assess your health condition and the presence of medical indications.
Receive an electronic referral - the doctor issues it if the indications are confirmed.
Independently choose a facility with an NHSU agreement for the relevant service.
The decision on the need for CT or MRI is made by the attending physician after examining the patient. These diagnostic methods allow detecting diseases at early stages, as well as assessing the consequences of injuries, strokes, tumors, lesions of internal organs, spine, blood vessels, and nervous system.
If a patient with an electronic referral is denied a free examination, they can contact the facility's administration or the NHSU contact center - to find out the reasons and protect their rights.
