Two residents of Dnipro, involved in an FSB agent network, face life imprisonment with confiscation of property if their guilt is proven in court. They have been notified of suspicion of high treason committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons under martial law. Both are in custody without the right to bail, according to the SBU.
A characteristic detail of the case: after counterintelligence exposed the main agent in June 2026, her relatives initially ceased their activities. However, they later independently re-established contact with their handler from Russia and continued working for the FSB.
The SBU detained the suspects on August 13, 2026. They turned out to be the mother and brother of the female agent who was exposed earlier. It was she who personally involved both relatives in cooperation with Russian special services, the investigation established.
The group's task was to collect intelligence on Dnipro's defense enterprises that Russia planned to attack. The collected information was also used to prepare new or adjust repeated strikes on the city.
Operationally, the suspects bypassed the perimeters of restricted facilities and recorded the geolocations of production workshops and logistics warehouses on Google Maps. In parallel, they collected information about the locations and consequences of already carried out Russian strikes.
The activities of the detainees have been documented. During searches, mobile phones used by them to collect information and communicate with FSB representatives were seized.
