A 63-year-old man from Dnipropetrovsk region sustained severe burns - he was sleeping near the window when an enemy drone hit the house. His wife was also injured. Both survived, but the house and all their property were destroyed.
The strike occurred on the night of August 10: enemy drones attacked a residential area of the Pyatykhatky community in Kamianske district, Dnipropetrovsk region. The house caught fire immediately after the hit. They managed to escape only through the window - documents and belongings remained inside.
Police officers received a report of a direct hit during their patrol: information came in that people might be under the rubble. Officers Serhii Neborachok and Anton Kovalchuk from the patrol police response sector VP №7 of Kamianske RUP arrived at the scene when the building was already on fire.
They moved the injured to a safe distance and drove them to the hospital. On the way, they met an emergency medical service team: the man, who needed urgent care, was handed over to paramedics, while the officers transported the woman themselves.
During the evacuation, the duty officer reported the threat of a repeat strike. The police warned residents of the community and urged them to take cover or move to safe places. After the injured were taken to the hospital, the officers returned, checked the perimeter, and ensured that the dangerous area was empty.
According to the press service of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast police, the couple barely managed to escape the burning house. Both were hospitalized and survived.
