Illegal industrial fishing in the Dnieper Reservoir caused damages amounting to 50,371 hryvnias - the sum was calculated according to the rates for assessing damage from illegal extraction of aquatic bioresources. The total weight of the seized catch was 27 kg.
Two types of fish were found in the nets: silver carp - 3 individuals weighing 21 kg, pike-perch - 11 individuals weighing 6 kg.
An investigative and operational group from the Zaporizhzhia District Police Department worked at the scene. Four gillnets were seized. The industrial boat and the dead fish were handed over for responsible storage pending a court decision.
The violation was recorded by state inspectors of the Dnipropetrovsk Fisheries Protection Patrol during a scheduled raid on the Dnieper Reservoir near the village of Svitanok.
Fishing was conducted from a boat with four gillnets, the total length of which exceeded the permitted 75 meters. This violates the requirements of the seventh paragraph of subparagraph 19 of point 2 of section III of the Rules of Industrial Fishing.
