Dnipro has digitized the accounting of internally displaced persons: the city council launched an electronic register of IDPs, where all information about displaced persons is concentrated in one environment instead of being scattered among various departmental sources.
As of now, over 203,000 internally displaced persons are registered in the city. This array of data forms the basis of the new system.
What the register provides to city services
According to the Department of Information Technologies of Dnipro, the register solves several practical tasks simultaneously:
tracking the current number of IDPs and the dynamics of its changes in real time;
planning the work of services based on a single database, not fragmented departmental data;
more accurate determination of the need for specific types of social assistance and allocation of resources accordingly;
more prompt decision-making in response to changes in the needs of displaced persons.
The Department of Information Technologies characterizes the electronic IDP register as one of the digital tools that helps the city form a realistic picture of the needs of displaced persons and build systemic support based on it.
