Volodymyr Vasylenko, the mayor of Vilnohirsk, sustained bodily injuries on July 8: the incident occurred in the executive committee building in Kamianske district. The police were informed about the event on the same day.
The Kamianske District Police Department reported on July 9 that criminal proceedings had been initiated. Investigators classified the incident under Part 2 of Article 350 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: this norm provides for liability for intentional infliction of beatings or bodily injuries of light or moderate severity against an official due to the performance of their official duties. Investigative actions are ongoing, and the circumstances of the incident are still being established.
This is the second such incident in Kamianske district in recent months. In late May 2026, Pyatykhatky Mayor Hilal Isayev suffered a stab wound to the chest. According to local media, the altercation occurred near the city hall building: a 57-year-old farmer entered into a verbal conflict with the official over unauthorized use of communal property, after which he stabbed him. Isayev's condition was assessed as critical, but doctors saved his life. The police detained the assailant, and he remains in custody.
