The Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office has submitted a case to court involving two individuals: the general director of a state-owned heat supply enterprise in Kamianske and the deputy head of a private company. Both will face trial.
According to the investigation, in 2023, the state enterprise signed an agreement with a private firm for the supply of electricity worth over 20 million hryvnias. Subsequently, the investigation alleges, officials illegally altered the terms of this contract, leading to an increase in the electricity tariff for the state by more than 30%.
A forensic economic examination established that as a result of these actions, the accused misappropriated 1.3 million hryvnias of budget funds.
The actions of the defendants are classified under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — embezzlement of state property on an especially large scale. The sanction of the article provides for a real prison sentence.
