Territorial bodies of the Pension Fund of Ukraine have started accepting applications for financial assistance for the purchase of solid fuel — firewood or coal — for the upcoming heating season. The deadline for submitting documents is August 17, 2026. This was reported by Sudovo-Yurydychna Hazeta.
Households whose homes are not connected to centralized heating or gas networks and are heated exclusively by solid fuel are eligible for the payment. The Pension Fund notes that assistance is provided in the form of housing subsidies and benefits.
Combatants, persons with disabilities, liquidators of the Chernobyl accident, large families, and single pensioners have the primary right to receive the payment. The condition for appointment is confirmation of the use of solid fuel for heating the home.
Increased amount for frontline settlements
Residents of territories near the front line can receive an increased amount — up to 19,400 hryvnias. The payment is made through international support programs. The list of settlements and recipients covered by the expanded program is determined by local military administrations.
How the subsidy is calculated
The basis for calculating the housing subsidy is a norm of two tons of solid fuel per household per year. The maximum price of one ton is set at 4,602.57 hryvnias, which gives a normative cost of a seasonal supply of about 9,205 hryvnias. The amount of the subsidy is determined as the difference between this amount and the family's mandatory contribution.
For beneficiaries, a separate norm applies — one ton of fuel per year. The amount of compensation depends on the category of benefit: combatants are reimbursed 75% of the cost.
Required documents
To apply for assistance, the following must be submitted to the territorial body of the Pension Fund:
application for assistance;
income declaration;
documents confirming the right to benefits (if any);
bank details in IBAN format;
housing conditions survey act — in some cases.
After checking the documents, a decision is made on the appointment of the payment, and the funds are transferred to the bank accounts of the recipients.
