Train traffic on the railway section near the Verkhivtseve station has been temporarily stopped - for the second time in less than 24 hours. The previous evening, a Russian Geran-type drone hit the area, damaging a locomotive that was not in operation at the time.
On the night of August 5, around 03:55, two drones struck the station territory in the Kamianske district of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The type of UAVs involved is currently being determined. The station belongs to the regional branch "Prydniprovska Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia," the railway reported.
Three damages were recorded:
an unused station building;
a freight car loaded with coal;
the contact network of the station's passenger park.
According to preliminary data from Prydniprovska Railway, there are no casualties. Information on the full extent of the damage is being clarified.
Systematic strikes on railway infrastructure are part of Russia's tactics aimed at disrupting Ukraine's transport logistics.
