Illegal logging in Kamianske district of Dnipropetrovsk region caused almost 3 million hryvnias in damages to the state. An indictment has been sent to court against four individuals - the organizer and three accomplices. Their names have not been disclosed by the prosecutor's office.
The group operated from November 2025 to April 2026 - for about five months. The charges were brought under Part 4 of Article 246 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: illegal logging committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy with grave consequences.
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Western District Prosecutor's Office of the city of Dnipro. The transfer of the case to court was announced by the press service of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation materials, the group members pre-selected plots of protective and other forest plantations - mostly far from roads, to avoid being noticed. Trees were cut down without permits and logging tickets, the timber was exported and sold.
