Messages about "additional pension payments" that are widely spread through messengers and social networks are a phishing scam. This conclusion was published by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine: no real payments exist for these announcements.
The promised amounts range from 3200 to 5300 hryvnias. To make the scheme more convincing, the "aid amount" is tied to the person's region of residence and work experience.
In reality, the goal is one: to trick a person into opening a fake website and leaving personal or banking data there. Once obtained, criminals gain access to online banking and can withdraw funds from accounts.
The scheme masquerades as official resources – scammers copy logos and designs of government agencies. Then the victim is asked to click a link, confirm their region of residence, and undergo "identification."
To prevent the person from thinking, messages use pressure phrases: "today only," "hurry to get," "urgent."
How to protect yourself
