A woman came to the Ministry of Internal Affairs service center with the intention of exchanging a fake driver's license for a real one - however, the forgery was discovered right during the document check. The case was sent to court.
This happened in July 2026. At that time, the woman had recently moved to Dnipro.
The investigation established exactly how the document was made. The woman purchased a plastic card printer online. She found a sample of the certificate on Google. Then, using ChatGPT, she entered her personal data and photograph into the layout - and printed the finished file.
The forged certificate indicated the right to drive vehicles of two categories:
category "A" - motorcycles;
category "A1" - mopeds.
The Dnipropetrovsk Scientific Research Forensic Center conducted an examination and confirmed: the certificate is not genuine and does not meet the requirements for manufacturing and protective elements.
The Sobornyi District Court of Dnipro considered the case. The woman fully admitted her guilt and asked for a fine.
The court took into account three mitigating circumstances: the woman had not previously been brought to criminal responsibility, has a young child, and at the time of the hearing was 22 weeks pregnant - this fact was separately recognized by the court as a circumstance mitigating the punishment.
On August 3, 2026, the court imposed a fine of 1,700 hryvnias. In addition, the woman is obliged to reimburse 3,369 hryvnias for expert examination costs.
