Parents who return to work after their child turns one year old are entitled to a monthly cash payment under the "eYasla" program. The program launched on January 1, 2026, and over 23,000 families have already submitted applications. More than 15,000 families are already receiving funds. According to Lyudmyla Shemelynets, First Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine, approximately 600 million hryvnias have been allocated for payments.
Payment amount and terms
The standard monthly amount is 8,000 hryvnias. Families raising a child with a disability receive 12,000 hryvnias per month.
The payment is accrued starting from the month following the child's first birthday and continues until the month they turn three years old. If, at the start of the program on January 1, 2026, the child was already over one year old, parents can receive the payment from that date, provided they submit an application within six months. For those who returned to work later, a similar rule applies: six months to submit an application, and accrual begins from the date of returning to work or from the day the child turned one year old.
What the funds can be spent on
The payment is targeted. The list of permitted expenses includes:
services of private preschool educational institutions;
services of officially registered individuals providing childcare;
paid services of state and municipal kindergartens - meals, clubs, additional classes, duty groups;
children's and family clothing, footwear, toys, and sports goods.
How to receive the payment: "Diia.Card" and alternatives
From August 2026, assistance can be credited to a special "Child Care" account linked to "Diia.Card". The card can be opened in the mobile application of one of five partner banks:
PrivatBank
Monobank
A-Bank
Sense Bank
Bank Credit Dnipro
If opening a card online is inconvenient, it can be done in person at a Pension Fund service center, a CSC, or through an authorized person of the territorial community. If a "Diia.Card" already exists, a specialist connects it to the Unified Information System of the Social Sphere, and the account is automatically added to the application. If there is no card yet, when applying, it is sufficient to name the desired bank, and the specialist will provide a QR code for opening it.
An alternative option is a special account at Oschadbank, opened by the Pension Fund. Both methods are equivalent.
Those who are already receiving "eYasla" or assistance for childcare up to one year old and wish to switch to "Diia.Card" do not need to resubmit an application and documents. It is sufficient to contact the Pension Fund, a CSC, or an authorized person of the community with a request to change the account. If both payments have already been assigned, they can be received into the same special account.
