On the evening of June 5, at 10:55 PM, the "102" line received a report from witnesses about a fight on Luhovska Street in Dnipro, according to the National Police. Details of the incident became known on the morning of June 6.
According to the police, law enforcement officers arrived at the scene. During the arrest, one of the conflict participants threw a grenade at a police officer. As a result of the explosion, he died on the spot. Four law enforcement officers sustained injuries of varying severity and were taken to the hospital.
Investigators have opened criminal proceedings under Article 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer. The investigation is ongoing.
