The Sobornyi District Court of Dnipro has sentenced a 65-year-old local resident, found guilty of molesting a minor. This was reported by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.
The prosecution was supported by prosecutors from the Right Bank District Prosecutor's Office. The court qualified the man's actions under part two of Article 156 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and imposed a sentence of eight years of imprisonment — the maximum term provided by this norm.
According to the investigation, which prosecutors proved in court, the incident occurred in the summer of 2025: the man approached two minor children in a city park and began to commit lewd acts against one of them. The thirteen-year-old victim moved away from the assailant and immediately called the police. Law enforcement officers detained the man.
During the trial, the defendant did not admit his guilt. The verdict has not yet entered into force: the appeal period is currently ongoing, and until its completion, the convicted person will remain in custody.
