Ukrainian air defense shot down or suppressed 106 drones with electronic warfare systems in the northern, southern, and eastern directions. This was reported by the Command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The attack began on August 16 at 6:00 PM and continued into the night of August 17. Russia used 128 attack UAVs: "Shaheds," including jet modifications, "Gerber" drones, and "Parodiya" type imitation drones.
Launches were carried out from four directions: Kursk and Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk Oblast.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces were involved in repelling the raid.
Hits were recorded at 14 locations. Debris from downed drones was found at two other locations.
