On August 14, 2026, Dnipro police detained a doctor immediately after he received a bribe. During the search, a mobile phone, laptop, medical documents, and about 2 million hryvnias in various currencies were seized.
According to the investigation, the medic demanded 3,000 US dollars from a serviceman for confirming his disability status. The doctor was part of an expert group that assessed the patient's level of functioning.
He was notified of suspicion under Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court remanded him in custody with the possibility of bail set at 1 million hryvnias. The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the prosecutor's office of the Western District of Dnipro.
The investigation established that the doctor offered to "improve" the diagnosis through falsification of medical documentation. As a separate condition, he demanded the completion of a three-week rehabilitation course.
