Nikopol Children's City Hospital reports that men can get a free blood test for prostate-specific antigen (PSA). This test helps detect prostate diseases, including cancer, even before symptoms appear.
A referral from a urologist, andrologist, oncologist, or family doctor is required for the examination. Without a referral, a free examination is not available.
Doctors note that prostate cancer often has no symptoms in its early stages. Therefore, they recommend the test for men:
aged 50 and older;
aged 45 and older, if there have been cases of prostate cancer in the family;
everyone who wishes to monitor their health.
Doctors urge not to delay the examination, as early diagnosis significantly increases the chances of successful treatment.
